The Up In Future Method

How do we think?

Three connected principles. Each step grows out of the one before it and raises new questions. That is why our method is not a line that ends, but a cycle that continues.

We start with the right questions.

Then we design.

Finally, we grow.

The stages of our method

Fase 1

Understand

Before designing anything, we need to understand what is truly worth designing.

An enterprise website, custom software, strategic consulting, automation or a new process can all be excellent solutions, but only when they solve the right problems. Our initial focus is therefore to understand the situation in detail before considering any solution. We listen to the company, examine the context and challenge the first answers.

We ask many questions because we genuinely want to understand the thinking of the people who entrust their company to us.

We discuss:

  • Where the company wants to go
  • Where the bottlenecks are
  • Which tools and processes are already in use
  • Who is involved and how they interact
  • How the company operates today
  • Which constraints exist

Fase 2

Design

Our design process always begins on paper, where we spend several hours developing an effective plan of attack. We think deeply about the problem before designing because this helps us understand the context and needs, maximise ROI and justify every choice we make.

We identify the most important levers, evaluate the alternatives and set clear priorities.

Then we focus on tools and technologies. We research the latest innovations, not for their own sake, but to create forward-looking solutions.

Only after these steps do we begin the actual design work.

At this stage, we:

  • Identify the decisive levers
  • Evaluate alternative routes
  • Define goals and priorities
  • Design the system or solution
  • Choose the right tools
  • Decide what to test first

Fase 3

Grow

We measure results, gather what we have learned and improve the system. If the data changes our perspective, we change direction.

Our method is a continuous learning cycle that enables the company to evolve.

For this very reason, there are no failures, only data to interpret so we can understand the next move.

At this stage, we analyse:

  • What worked
  • What did not work
  • What we learned
  • What we need to change
  • Which opportunity emerged
  • Where to focus in the next iteration

Where the method comes from

The Up In Future Method did not begin as a theoretical formula created around a table.

It grew from principles that have existed for years and continue to prove effective when working in uncertain contexts, making better decisions and growing a project without wasting time, energy or resources.

At its core is the Lean methodology, with its continuous Build → Measure → Learn cycle.

The idea is simple: instead of planning everything rigidly or investing immediately in heavy solutions, we start with a hypothesis, turn it into a concrete experiment, observe the results and use what we learn to improve the next step.

We are also inspired by the logic of Growth Hacking, which applies the same mindset to growth through rapid tests, data, iterations and the continuous search for the most effective combinations.

For this reason, we place great value on prototyping and, when appropriate, PREtotyping. We prefer to make an idea visible as early as possible, even in an essential form, to understand whether it truly makes sense to develop it.

This allows us to reduce uncertainty, avoid premature investments and build clearer, more sustainable and measurable paths.

Our method comes from this way of working: one based not on rigid assumptions, but on hypotheses, tests, learning and continuous improvement.
